On June 20, 1984 Coach Goncalves was born into a family with a long legacy of soccer. His Father Jose and Mother Rita were both born in Portugal and loved the game of soccer. Soccer has always been a way of life in Goncalves family. While in Portugal Goncalves was enrolled in the Sporting Lisbon professional academy. His family moved from Portugal to New Bedford Massachusetts when he was 7. His dad played semi-professional soccer for over 13 years. While growing up his father was always his friend and coach.  At 7 years old Coach Goncalves had his first undefeated season in the states. He moved to Florida in 1993 and joined a team named the wild things. He went undefeated 3 years in a row. Coach Goncalves went to the junior Olympics in 1996 and came in 10th place out of 50 teams. Coach Goncalves played club soccer for Seminole county and Orange County throughout the years. Coach Goncalves started for the Apopka Blue darters on the Varsity team his freshman year all the way up to his junior year. Coach Goncalves has coached numerous youth teams in Apopka Fl. He joined the Central Florida League in division 2A and finished in second place. Coach Goncalves has played in a few leagues and tournaments in previous years. He is currently  the President of Superior soccer Club.  He  currently posses an F Coaching Soccer License through the FYSA and is in the process of continuing his coaching education. He is also the owner and President of Avalon Rec Soccer League in Orlando FL.  Coach Goncalves is a Youth Counselor in the Teenage ministry and he is a part of the Avalon worship team. His main focus is to grow young men and women into Spiritual leaders on and off the Soccer Pitch.
